Title: The House and the Car
Post by PseudoPserious on May 12th, 2003, 8:50am
A man pushes his car past a house and smiles.  Why?

--------

This is my personal favorite of the 'what happened?' type of puzzles.  It actually makes sense and (even better) no-one dies or has a fish named Roger.  Ask me questions and I will tell you no lies.

Cheers,
PP

You know lots of guys who are happy doing this kind of thing?  ;)

Oh, nevermind...

Is the "car" an automobile or one of the other "cars"?
Does the car still have a motor?
Is the motor kaput? If not, is it running?
Who is living in the house?
Is this some sort of workout?

Ok i ve calmed down now.  ;)

I ve a few questions of my own:

Does he know who lives in the house? Who lives there? If he knows the person, by what connections?

Does he do this every day? If he does, does he smile everytime or just this one time?

I think i agree with PseudoPserious, all the what happened do get dead depressing as everyone dies.  :'(

Now that you mention it, I do remember a certain limitation to the questions...

And while I'm at it:

Where's the difference?
I don't want to start a discussion about logic (a la "ex falso quod libet" in the case of the second question I quoted), but you should be consistent.  :)

Nah, I said I wouldn't lie...not that I'd be useful :)

I couldn't answer the first question (yours) yes or no because I didn't know what you meant by a car/automobile/"other car" distinction.  If I understood that, I could answer yes or no.  As it stands, I think my only response is "Whaaa?"

I answered the second question 'no' meaning: if he did do it everyday (even though he doesn't), then it is not true that he smiles every time or just this once.
