Title: Not Wet
Post by maryl on Jul 10th, 2003, 2:04pm
                  A man's body is found 200
feet below sea level, but the
cause of his death is not
                  drowning. How and where
                  did this man die?

He [hide]fell down a mine shaft[/hide]?

Sea level is a measurement of the mean of the highest high tide and he lowest low tide. Just because [hide] a man was found 200 feet below sea level doesnt neccesarily mean he was underwater... (if u had said "under the surface of the sea" then that would be a diferent story) Perhaps a fall would account for the death, as wombat suggested...[/hide]
As for were and how he died, i have no clue.  ???

I'm guessing [hide]dehydration[/hide] myself. That 200 ft below sea level sounds about right for [hide] the bottom of Death Valley. [/hide] Of course he could have been [hide] in the Dead sea region[/hide], in which case he could be [hide] a terrorism or occupation victim. [/hide]

Based on the wording of the question (and not the title), he could also had been murdered, and then thrown to the sea with "concrete boots"

Yes you're right -[hide]except I had heat stroke as the cause of death[/hide]

Sorry to bring back such an old thread, but there is the alternative solution of a man dying from radiation inside a nuclear submarine which had a leak.

I would've guessed the hypothermia answer.

Hypothermia would be because of usually cold temperatures, most of the time, and as far as I know at 200 feet below sea level, it wouldn't be too cold. In fact, that's usually at a point at least a few hundred feet higher.

It would be cold if you were below the sea.

or he was good at holding his breath but the water pressure killed him.

Maybe a sailor who died of some contagious disease.  He was thrown overboard.

But you'd have to be wet for that.

He died in McDonald's. Or he jumped out of a plane.
