Title: Matters of the Heart
Post by alien2 on Apr 28th, 2014, 6:34am
Eddie asked his girlfriend Ashley to marry him. If I mention tennis and traffic, can you tell me what her answer was?

The form of the question "Will you marry me?" presumes a binary form of an answer: "yes" or "no".

Or may be even stronger: if it's not a definite "yes" then it's a "no".

Anything to do with [hide]Tramlines (side lines in a tennis court)[/hide]?

No to all of the above. This time I'm looking for the intended answer only.

[hide]Let's Jam[/hide]?
[hide]Nyet! (As in Tennis net, and 'net traffic. Also they were both Russian...)[/hide]?

I can just hear your [hide]Nyet![/hide].

Came out very authentic ...

How about "if you promise to not cross me (and be a faithful husband) I promise to serve you well (as a faithful wife)"?

Maybe she [hide]'feinted' in surprise?  That's saying yes in a roundabout way...[/hide]

Or perhaps [hide]she moved her head from left to right for a while as though watching a tennis match.  Then, once Eddie knew he was out, she got in her car and drove off.[/hide]

Awesome, so we're halfway there.  Now we just need to work out [hide]The 'traffic' part[/hide].

Here are some guesses:

[hide]"Want to get hitched?  Take a hike instead!"[/hide]

[hide]She kicked him to the curb?[/hide]

[hide]She said that he was moving too fast?[/hide]

...and the riddle is solved.

Or [hide]why would she want to marry Eddie?[/hide]
