Angel Eyes knows at which cemetery William is supposed to bury Billy and Billy's wife Joanne. Billy is a friend of Angel Eyes. William had to serve a sentence of 10 years in a prison because of Billy's testimony. Angel Eyes knows that William, although known for excessive violence, would never torture a woman. He has no other information.

Angel Eyes arrives at the mentioned cemetery and kills William who dug two empty graves. Billy and Joanne are in two coffins nearby and with lids nailed down. Both lids are fixed and ready for interment. He knows right away in which coffin lies Billy. How? Nobody else is there and no unmentioned objects have a role in the riddle.

1). William == Billy?

2). Billy was 7-foot tall and Joanne was a midget?

3). Billy was much heavier than Joanne?

4). The coffins are signed?

5). Billy/Joanne is alive and screaming "This is Billy/Joanne, this is Billy/Joanne, get me outta here!"?

6). A recognizable part of Billy's (or Joanne's) attire is sticking out of one of the coffins?

Close enough. William would never torture a woman though. So Joanne is dead and William had Texas Funeral in mind for Billy.

Wu riddlers like you are astute so I guess there are more plausible answers than the two.

Inscriptions on the coffins? They would somehow had an info there to be able to tell in which hole to bury them (due to tomb stones).
