Title: Bad knees
Post by alien2 on Jul 17th, 2016, 5:26am
A limping man whose legs hurt feels the need to sit on a chair. But when he does he is terrified. Why? There is nothing unusual about the riddle.

He is in a forest with wolves staying in a haunted house.  He has been terrified for the whole day, why would it be different when he sits down?

A chair in a forest? Are you crazy?

Because the man is limping, he carries a portable chair with him at all times?

No. Why would he be terrified when he sits down? Are you crazy as well?

Perhaps I am the one who is crazy here. I am not certain that a part of the riddle is in the spirit of English language.

Is he terrified when he sits on a chair, or is he terrified when he feels the need to sit on a chair?

Is the chair haunted by the spirit of the English language? And is that what terrifies him? :P

1) he will be taking a finals exam on differential topology that he did not study all that well?

2) he has bad [hide]elbows[/hide] also?

Both.

I decided to accept this answer as an alternative one.

I am not crazy, my mother got me tested!

Finding a chair in the forest just when you need one, isn't it a bit spooky?

My original 'portable chair' post was a plausible explanation of how a man can find a chair in a forest in Grimbal's original 'forest/wolves' suggestion ...

Pretty good. Not good enough though.

Sounds like an unfortunate adventure with a [hide]Ski lift[/hide] to me.

Nice try. I remember hanging as a kid in the air for half an hour on a platter lift which broke down.

I like this witty answer! I like Dutch too! Well, smart Dutch anyhow.

No intended answer yet.

I am sitting on a chair right now but I am terrified because no woman wants to marry me. It appears women are smart too.
