Title: Speed IV

Which four speeds does a man have when he is standing on a meadow still like a statue?

Well, there is amthetamine and methamphetamine.  Both come in L and D variety.  So that's four speeds.

The mixture of these is probably why the man thinks it is a good idea to play statue in the middle of a meadow.

Is that why they call it being "stoned" :P

I reckon I ought to have said that he is in perfect health. But, no. Definitely no. I meant speed as speed, velocity, if you will.

But, here's another silly answer; and definitely not the expected one. If he sees a velociraptor he immediately starts to run when his speed quadruples. Again, this is way off base.

How 'bout another silly answer? If he sees Oprah he proves Einstein to be wrong and runs faster than the speed of light.

There's the speed of [hide]The blood being pumped around his body[/hide], [hide]nerve impulses traveling as he thinks and feels[/hide], [hide]the food matter being processed through his intestines[/hide], and [hide]the speed at which he is currently moving - zero km/hr.[/hide]

I hadn't considered/thought of that! Neat answer.

However, regarding the expected answer, which is cast in the same mold, you ought to think along the same lines yet apply your way of thinking on the 'big picture', sort to speak; 'a real big picture, man'. Grand scheme of things, anyone?

Einstein?  I see.  You mean relativity.

There are plenty of speeds.

The speed of the guy relative to the ground (zero).
The speed of the guy relative to the water flow.
The speed of the guy due to the Earth rotation.
The speed of the guy due to the rotation of Earth around the Sun.
The speed of the guy due to the solar system rotating around the Galayx Center.
The speed of the guy relative to the center of the Big Bang (you know, where the background radiation comes from).
The speed of the guy relative to the luminiferous aether.
And finally the speed of guy relative to the ambulance speeding to catch the guy.

These two belong to two expected answers. As per the remaining two, I'm not seeing them on the above list, which is just fine; but, keep looking IF you're still interested in 'my' idea/s, that is to say, additional ideas.

This is definitely on the right track, but your explanation doesn't quite apply to the expected 3rd answer, I think. 'Tis 'bout something my professor, way back in school, told me about people on Earth, how we are constantly... oops, I almost gave it away. Luckily, I didn't! Btw, the professor was a bit nut, quite unlike me. I am more than certain that you agree.

Forgot 'bout that one.

Actually, me professor said that we are constantly falling on the center of the Earth because of gravity. I reckon he mistook potential for kinetic energy. Hm...

As per 4th idea it concerns the Big Bang.

The original answer would be: none. Albeit, regarding this particular instance, it'd also be ultimately incorrect. Unless, Nobody extends his answer to everything to 'nothing' and 'none' as well; and, if he decides so, enlighten us all 'bout nirvana.

Ahem. I almost forgot. Albeit Dudiogubtron broached the answer, the winner is, the man from Switzerland, who not only put a burglar into coma with his stinky feet, but also happens to be a family man, and yet, more than happily married, the one and only, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrimbaaal!

Nah, I use metric.
I fight burglars with my stinky meters.
It only works with British burglars, though.
