I want a function from A(profits) to B(bid increment). My main motive is to increase  my bid whenever profits increase and decrease the bid whenever the profits decrease.

However, increase in profits is huge (may range anywhere from $500 to $5000). But I don't want my bid rate to fluctuate so much. My bid rate should fluctuate somewhere from 0 to 4 or 0 to 5.

Can anyone suggest nice function which acheives this.

Also, decrease in bid price should be rapid when the profit decreases because, we can't take chances by reducing bid by small amounts, because that might eat all our profits, before we reduce the price to optimal price.

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions
