Title: Languages: "Let my people go"
Post by BNC on Nov 22nd, 2005, 8:17am
Posted this by mistake in the wrong forum (and still got a reply from Aryabhatta -- thanks!)

I'm re-posting in hope of more replies...

My daughter got an assignment from school -- finding and writing (hopefully including the proper pronunciation) how to say "let my people go" (from the book of Exodus) in different languages.

Can you guys help with the languages you know?

TIA!

http://www.biblegateway.com/
should be able to help with 35 languages. Just enter what book and verse the line is, and which language/version you want

Exodus 7:16 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=2&chapter=7&verse=16&version=31&context=verse)

Although there's the problem of extracting the right part from the whole verse..

Google Translate won't always give an exact translation, especially for rare used languages. Try to use Facebook groups, there're some translation groups where you'll get good advices.

Google translate is pretty messed up, we would always use human translators on our ecommerce (http://www.ekmpowershop.com/) site - personally I wouldn't use it  :o

In french we say :"Laissez aller mon peuple"

In arabic :"دع شعبي يذهب"
