When clouds are out/Light as a feather/I blind you

3 nice riddles for you guys. Really need some answers!
1st: When the clouds are out, it goes no higher then them. It weighs less then a feather and is as thick if not thicker then a mountain. It cannot be seen by all but even the ones who cannot see it, see it. What is it?
2nd: As light as a feather but you cannot hold onto me forever. What am I?
3rd: I blind you, I give you food, I give you light, I give you death, I give you life, I am always there, I am never there. What am I?

The answer to number 2 must be your breath.
The answer to number 1 I think is air or wind but the riddler must be very old, as we know that some of the conditions do not hold true in the face of scientific explanation.
Number three has me stumped
