Question for the last three posting solutions: Are you simply trying out alternative answers, or have you failed to notice that the intended answer has already been given?
By the way, the second stanza of the riddle usually reads "He who buys it does not use it". I suspect this version has been corrupted by the poor memory of someone in its history.

Most people who counterfeit also use the fake money, not just sell it (for real cash) to someone else. The same is not true for coffin makers, who only use their product themselves once, and usually that is one made by someone else.
