Ok... this is my first riddle and it is pretty simple so I expect an answer quickly... but here goes: I have many faces you will see me in the street, Looking old and shabby or pretty, clean and neat, There are two sides of me and everything I do, Of siblings and relatives I have quite a few. What am I?

Well, given that pelican crossings only use two images (Green man/Red man), it could be said that they have 2 sides, as well as only providing two instructions (everything I do), but the pelican crossing comes in various different forms or appearances (Just based on my own experience, theres the man icons, "Walk/Don't Walk", or a Red Hand/Green Man" versions) which provide many faces, some older than others, as well as being found on the street. Finally, there are various other forms of pedestrian crossings, providing quite a few siblings and relatives. Perhaps being a bit too creative in interpreting, but more or less riffing off the suggestion given by fatball with something I thought fit better.

| I can see the interpretation, but perhaps part of the confusion comes from the fact that it's only you Brits that use the term "pelican crossing" to refer to a type of automated pedestrian crosswalk signal... --SMQ

Yea, when I was reading through this thread, I was wondering what a Pelican Crossing was. Then I read the explanation Three Hands posted - so then off to Wikipedia I went: there is no real term for the pedrestian crossing system in the US, and in the UK, "the official name is Pelicon crossing (short for PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled crossing)" In case anyone else was wondering.

Thank you Archae... I was sort of wondering what he meant by that myself... I was going hm... they have deer crossings, etc so maybe he comes from some place where lots of pelicans like to cross the streets. LOL

I did wonder if that was the case, but figured I may as well give the full explanation anyway, just in case.
