I was in New York City and Chicago at the same time. How's this possible?!

Not quite sure what you mean. I'm ashamed.

Woah, I was sure towr's answer would be the right one!
Smiley  Here's how I understood it: Chicago is 1 hour behind New York. So first, go to New York, then go to Chicago in an hour and it will be the same time as it was when you left New York.

Amazing! There is no need to continue to search for the expected answer which, btw, sucks, and I am to embarrassed to say it. How was I supposed to know that Chicago is 1 hr behind New York City? I never was in either of these places.

Another possible answer: You were performing the musical Chicago in New York.

I had to look it up myself to be sure. I knew it was an option in America, though. And that that Chicago lay further to the west. The main issue with my answer is whether you can realistically get from New York to Chicago in an hour - flight time is 1h49, so you'd need something faster than an airliner.

Another answer would be at the same time, but on different days

That's a fine alternative answer.

If you're looking for something faster than an airliner, no problem. You can borrow me UFO. As per: 'Beam me up, Scotty.', a Chinese team has broken the distance record by teleporting particles to a satellite in space. Stand by for the starship Enterprise, that once was fictional, but soon real.

Towr, you are one of those rare people, and me friend, who happen to admit their bad by suggesting that their solution is not quite a proper one. I salute you for that; and now, I have even more respect for you, if that is at all possible, since I already had admiration for you in abundance. As per the Flying Dutchman, and You, the Flying Dutch, I wish you, and your soccer team, a lot of success in Russia, the land, of frozen tears, and yet, warm charming women.
