I don't follow your line of reasoning. Not the intended answer. Thanks for participating.

Nothing odd.
It is the positive terms of the sequence known on the OEIS as A005843.

If it is not 6, then maybe 30?

No, no, no. What number comes "right after" 24? So no 6 or 36 or 666 or a googol. And don't you say 25.

That's it! No more Mr. Nice Guy! I posted over a thousand riddles for you; and what is the thanks, or lack there of, I get?! I commend your sense of humor, and yet, to me, riddles are even more important than humor, and should be cherished accordingly. In other words, now I sense that, well, you are clueless, regarding this particular riddle, which is quite untypical for you. But, stay on it, if you dare, forwhy he who dares wins. I am confident that, having a certain omitted fact in mind (this was a hint), You, Grimbal, the one and only, or somebody else out of many, many riddlers, will solve this riddle. Happy puzzling!

It just occurred to me, that an original answer would be: none. But that's not the answer either, forwhy I am looking for - - - a number.

However, if you want yet another hint, how 'bout the infinite monkey theorem? Surely hitting keys at random on a computer keyboard for an infinite amount of time you will almost surely type the given number. Got ya!

1, for 2 reasons.
- on a 24 hour clock that funnily displays midnight as 24, right after 24 comes 1 AM.
- in "What number comes after 24 if it isn't 25?", what comes after 24 is the letter 'I'.  In roman numerals it is 1.

Ticktack.

Throwing math stuff at me . . . Instead of numbers, how 'bout throwing me a banana!? It is well known that riddlers eat bananas as well, not just tennis players or monkeys.

OK, ok.

24 is like this:
)  )  )  )  )
)  )  )  )  )
)  )  )  )
It is like 2 hands plus 4 fingers.

30 is like this:
)  )  )  )  )
)  )  )  )  )
)  )  )  )  )
it is 3 full hands and 0 fingers.  And nothing else sticking out.

So you see?  30 comes just after 24!

At this point, I am uncertain whether you are a genius or a candidate for a mental institution. I hope it is the former.

I have no training in Psychiatry.  I can't work there.

So I must be a genius.

Although it is quite possible that you ARE a genius, there is a flaw in your logic. Just because you do not have a degree in psychiatry, it does not automatically warrant your affiliation towards "a beautiful mind". Furthermore, even though some designate psychiatrists as "crazy", psychotherapy can produce wonders, contrary to popular belief, and can even be directly responsible for "creating" a genius, who happens to be a bit shy, or is suffering from a certain mental disorder. Your prejudice is evident, and yet, you claim to be a genius, perhaps only to emphasize your sense of humor. Though laughter can alter dopamine and serotonin activity, likewise produce endorphins, humor, as such, is not responsible for a genius, though it might be a trait of this person of greater consequence. And even though you still remain a mystery to me, I salute your vivid and highly developed imagination, and congratulate you, perhaps prematurely, for possibly receiving a Nobel prize in the near future (a somewhat distant timeline).
