One answer that comes to mind is [hide]love[/hide].

Interpretation here, though, is critical.  The riddle can be interpreted as:
1)  The more you take (of X), the less you receive (of X); or
2)  The more you take (of X), the less you receive (of Y).
Each may have a distinct set of answers.  [hide]Love[/hide] seems to me to satisfy interpretation 1 while [hide]medicine[/hide] and [hide]sickness[/hide] seem to satisfy interpretation 2.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Two X-Y type solutions are:
[hide]The more advice you take, the less danger/risk you receive.[/hide]
[hide]The more no-pay leave you take, the less money you receive.[/hide]

One X-X type solution I can think of fulfilling the question (though not perfectly well) is [hide]time[/hide], as [hide]the more time you take (meaning wasting it), the less you will eventually have[/hide].
