On one hand, everything seems rosy,
fluffy, warm, even inviting.

On the other, everything is cold, miserable and grey.

Fortunately, my protective cocoon
shields me from the roar of reality,
and keeps my spirit lofted.

WOW I can't deny that answer. Though I would offer travelling there as a better take.

It's not quite the intended answer though. The 'rosy' part helps justify that.
Drop acouple of thousand kilometers and you're almost there!

[hideb]I was thinking that the protective cocoon was something along the lines of the atmosphere of the earth or a lunar vehicle.

I personally like earth best, but it's not the best answer with the whole lofted spirits bit and I was thinking about the seeming roar caused by greatly reducing pressure to the eardrums.[/hideb]
