If you have 3 sixes and you erase 1, what remains will be 2 of them, not 66.

If you erase the middle one, you don't get 66 but 6 6.

If you have DCLXVI and you erase I you get DCLXV.  That is 665.

Yes. This is the expected answer. Or who ever said that three sexes were 666 in the 1st place! They could've been literally three sixes (6 6 6).

If you erase one from 666 you get 665.
