'Sotsugyou' by Raymond Yakura
Natsukashii, as we look forward, (Translation: Natsukashii = Retrospective)
Pressing through the hardest times,
Savoring in the triumphs,
Here and forever...
As we face mysteries,
Doko ni ikeru to, (Translation: Where will we end up..)
We must keep pressing on,
Learning from the past...
All of those late nights,
When hearing only the street lights,
We managed to keep going,
Even when our eyes said no...
Chorus:
Wash away all tears,
Watch the joy coming through,
Let us cheer from our years here,
We will never forget...
Refrain:
Sometimes we wandered,
What is our goal?
But we looked forward,
While being lost on the way...
Sometimes we wonder,
How did we make it?
But we all kept our goal,
Pressing on always...
Chorus:
Wash away all tears,
Watch the joy coming through,
Let us cheer from our years here,
We will never forget...
We will never forget...
We will never forget...
Notes: The title 'Sotsugyou' translates to 'graduation' in English.
There are some Japanese mixed in with the English. In Japanese
popular music, many songs contain a few English words in the
songs with mostly Japanese lyrics. This song attempted to use
a few Japanese words with mostly English lyrics.
Anyways, if you have any question/comments or want me to sing
the song (for some strange reason), e-mail me at
