My name is Yuri Zuev. I am 21 years old and currently living in Berkeley, CA where I attend the University of California at Berkeley. I am a senior undergraduate student, majoring in physics. I like to read, including classic literature, philosophy, science, utopias(my favorite), science fiction, and current events. I enjoy hanging out with good company and discussing ideas. Back in high school, I did Tae-Kwon-Do and American Kickboxing, now I play tennis and ski. Like most people, I would like to travel a lot. Over the summer of 2004, I went to the south of Europe, which was a lot of fun. Some of my pics are in the Pictures section. I absolutely love a few select TV shows, specifically Family Guy and Seinfeld. Music wise, I have an eclectic taste, classical, jazz, rock, metal, some rap, techno/trance. I am originally from Russia, as if you couldn't tell from my name, and have lived in Colorado for about 10 years before I came to school to the west coast. In May of 2005 I am graduating! I am a member of the Crommie Condensed Matter research group at the Physics Department at UC Berkeley. I primarily use scanning tunneling microscopy to image atomic nanostructures and study their electronic properties. My senior thesis involves the study of the peculiar properties of single walled carbon nanotubes.
