for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
This
is
an accreditation program for all engineering schools across the nation.
Humboldt State University's B.S. degree from the environmental
resources engineering department has been ABET accredited since
1981.
American Institute
of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Conference
I
presented a poster at this conference in San Fransisco, CA (November
2006). The University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez chemical engineering
department funded my travel and hotel expenses.
Appropriate
Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG)
This
is
U.S. based non-profit organization that I worked for in Guatemala
during the 2006 summer.
Their main objective is to incubate renewable energy businesses in
developing countries.
Berkeley's
Environmental Engineering Program
This website
provides details of the MS in Environmental Engineering degree.
California Board for
Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
I obtained my
California
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license in 2006 from this board.
In
2010, I plan on taking the California Professional Engineer (PE) exam
in hopes of obtaining an official license for the State of California.
California
Department of Transportation
I worked for
District 1 in Eureka, CA as
a Transportation Engineer (Civil) from Jan. 2008 until August 2008.
More specifically, I worked in the District Office Engineer
Division.
Campus Center for
Appropriate Technology (CCAT)
During my
undergraduate career, I volunteered at this Humboldt State
University facility. After volunteering, I have worked
as an engineer research consultant for CCAT during the spring and fall
2007 semesters.
Engineering and
Business for Sustainability (EBS) Certificate Program
While at UC
Berkeley, I am pursuing the
EBS Certificate which will be added to my MS in Environmental
Engineering official transcript. This program consists of
courses
from the College of Engineering, the Haas School of Business, Berkeley
Law, and the Energy and Resources Group.
Environmental
Engineers of the Future (E2F)
This is a
scholarship program that is
set up to fund students pursuing a masters degree in environmental
engineering. I was awarded this scholarship for the 2008-2009
academic year to attend UC Berkeley.
Environmental
Resources Engineering (ERE) Department
The Environmental
Resources Engineering BS degree requires more curriculum then
most BS engineering
degrees and contains an extensive emphasis
in water and energy resources.
Humboldt State
University (HSU)
This
is where I have accumulated the majority of my undergraduate
credit to obtain an ABET accredited BS engineering degree.
Microbial Fuel Cell
(MFC) Blog
I have
been working on this research blog throughout the start of my academic
career.
Currently, this is a work in progress.
National Hydrogen
Association (NHA) Conference
I
attended this conference twice. Once with a group of Humboldt State
University students when we received 3rd place in the Hydrogen
University (H2U) competition (spring 2004) and then again as a
volunteer (spring 2006).
Pennsylvania State
University (PSU)
During
the 2007 summer, I interned in a Research Experience for Undergraduates
(REU) Program at Penn State University.
The research focused on microbial fuel cell technology and I was
advised by Dr. Bruce Logan.
Renewable Energy
Student Union (RESU)
I was a part of
this Humboldt State
University university club throughout most of my undergraduate
academic career. One
of our main accomplishments during the height of my involvement was our
team efforts in winning the 1st ever Hydrogen University (H2U)
competition put forth by the National
Hydrogen Association (NHA).
Schatz Energy
Research Center (SERC)
I volunteered at
this Humboldt State University facility during part of my undergraduate
career.
University of California - Berkeley (UCB)
This is the
university where I am currently pursuing my MS degree in Environmental
Engineering.
University of
Puerto Rico - Mayaguez (UPRM)
This
university and engineering school is part of an exchange program called
the National
Student Exchange. I was on exchange at this school during the fall 2006
semester. Every one of my
engineering courses were taught in Spanish.
U.S. Public Health
Service - Indian Health Service (PHS-IHS)
I
interned as an environmental engineer for this agency during the 2004
and 2005 summer.
I was stationed on the Shoshone/Bannock reservation in Idaho for 2004
and I worked for the Yurok Tribe while
I was stationed in Arcata, CA for the 2005 summer.
University of
Wisconsin - Eau Claire (UWEC)
I
attended this university for one year before I decided to move to
California
and attend Humboldt State University.
