Research: The availability of medical interpreter services at major Bay Area hospitals and the challenges to medical interpreting.

Hobbies/Interests: arts and crafts, contemporary foreign music, when I get the chance cardio kickboxing and yoga, and long walks

Research : Coining & Cupping in the VA community
Hobbies/Interests: Learning languages, listening to music, reading novels, and trying new food/restaurants!

Mai Nhia Vang

Year: 4th Year
Double Major: Social Welfare and Ethnic Studies; Minor: Education
Research: My research project aims to study the existence of domestic violence within the Hmong/ Hmong American community. I particularly focused on the experiences of Hmong/ Hmong American students currently attending UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and California State University Sacramento.
Hobbies/Interests: I love Skyping with my family, having cooking and study jams with friends, going to Cal football games, being involved with different types of community work, and traveling to new places. :)
