Anyone can provide sleep therapy coaching! UC Berkeley will provide all necessary training.

Talk to your client about whether they’d like to participate, and if they say yes,  share your client’s name and phone number, or the best way to reach them with us. OR give them our contact information, and they can reach out to us directly.

We have a couple of questions about their sleep and mental health in order to enroll them in the study. This helps us to keep track of how they’re doing down the line and provide extra support to you throughout the process. Emma will give you a call before you get started!

Yes, absolutely. People with all kinds of mental health symptoms can benefit. In fact, people who are experiencing greater mental health challenges may need sleep therapy the most.

Definitely! It’s very flexible.  We are happy to help think through the best ways to adjust the therapy to meet your needs.

About 6 clients over the next year. More or less is okay too!

Our role is to facilitate, support and provide resources in all aspects of the treatment and sustainment process. We provide all the training and supervision, and we’ll take care of the minimal data collection too!

We strongly encourage attending our drop-in supervision to build your sleep health knowledge. It’s also a great opportunity to discuss how to tailor your approach to your clients’ needs! If you would like to become a UC Berkeley certified Sleep Therapist you will need to attend a supervision session approximately every other week.

Typically we do group supervision over the phone or Zoom. We also offer individual supervision if you’d like to talk one-on-one about any clinical or sleep matters.

You will need to complete treatment with 3 clients and attend a supervision session approximately every other week. While optional, it is highly encouraged to have at least one session recorded.

No. Recording sessions is optional for both you and your clients. Recording sessions helps us make the most out of our supervision sessions.

The UC Berkeley staff is responsible for all data collection. We aimed to keep it down to a few short interviews that most people find easy and enjoyable.

Every week you will receive an email that will ask you to provide specific, brief information about your sessions

Great question, setting up a strong train-the-trainer network will be crucial for sustainment. One to two Sleep Therapists from your county will become the trainers for the second generation/group of Sleep Therapists. They will have access to recorded trainings and materials to aid them in training the next generation of Sleep Therapists. If you are interested in becoming a Sleep Therapist Trainer, please email us at sleepteam@berkeley.edu.
