Culture of Medicine Committee

Culture of Medicine (COM) is a great place for those deciding whether or not they want to have a career in healthcare. We’ll have engaging discussions about not just medical school (applications, what it’s like, tips on how to find related extracurricular activities), but also PA, optometry, and nursing school. We will also hold activities like mock doctor-patient interaction and suturing practice to help develop skills.

Last semester, the COM committee put together a website designed to help pre-med and pre-health students navigate the world of healthcare and find the jobs, practices, and opportunities that are best for them. Please check out the website and share it with your friends!

This semester, our committee is dedicated to continue expanding on the work from last semester. We hope to engage in more projects that help spread information about a variety of healthcare career options to high school and college students. We hope to do this by organizing events or panels that will help connect aspiring pre-health students to other students and professionals in various healthcare careers. If you have any questions regarding the Culture of Medicine Committee or have any ideas that you would like to see implemented by the committee, please contact Somanshu Sharma, our committee chair, via Slack or email!

The Culture of Medicine committee is no longer accepting applications for Fall 2021. Please check back at the beginning of next semester.
