Reality Show 8 to a Room to be filmed in Berkeley

As part of its fall lineup, Fox News announced today that it had acquired the rights to the reality show “8 to a Room” which is set to start filming in Berkeley.

Because of the extreme lack of housing in the Bay Area, students and residents alike have taken to doubling or even tripling up in extremely tight quarters. It is not uncommon to see two to three people living in a single bedroom apartment.

However, the new reality show from Fox, “8 to a Room” seeks to push this show to its logical extreme by putting together 8 Berkeley students in a single bedroom apartment together to see “how it works out”.

According to a Fox Spokeswoman, “Because housing prices are so expensive it won’t be long before this does become a reality in Berkeley, so we thought we might give students a glimpse of what they have to look forward to.”

According to Sam Dean, “Because of the limited space and the fact that all the guys living in the bedroom are engineering majors, we decided that the most efficient allocation of space would be for everyone to sleep in hammocks diagonally on top of one another.”

When asked whether she was looking forward to sharing a bathroom with six men, resident Gina Thompson declined to comment.
