sometime in the spring of 1997, the california milk advisory board started putting many cookie monster billboards up.   i saw them everywhere!!!   i loved them!   i wish they never left.

eric chang turned 22 years old.   eric plays defense on the cal ice hockey team.   i have watched him play.   he has put on many pounds since playing for the cal team.   he really like in-n-out burgers and everything socal.   he has a girlfriend, mia son.   and now, he also has a nice purple nissan pathfinder!   yah!

in this picture, you see (from left to right) stephen pak, tobias jaw, eric chang, jon aytac, and christina pak.   the paks came from tustin, california in orange county.   toby came from santee, down by san diego.   eric came to berkeley from arcadia in orange county.   and jon came from cupertino, right in the heart of silicon valley.

gina braden, philip huang, heather lamb, and alvarro padilla watch me try on my new cal apparel, birthday gifts from vivian, heather, eric, and ben chang.   the birthday part of the picnic surprised me, but my friends intended it that way.   i had a great time eating barbecued burgers and dogs.   heather made great burgers.   i am glad my "li'l pal" red barbecue from super k-mart center has served my friends and i quite well ever since i bought it at the beginning of this summer.   ah, i shall always remember the summer of 1997 as a season filled with lots of barbecue.   who came to this barbecue at berkeley's cesar chavez park at the marina?   heather, her hubby alvarro, phil, gina, stan kwang, annelise bjannes, tobias jaw, sarah aldinger, ben chang, eric chang, jon aytac, vivian, and i all made it; but ed park could not obtain transportation until later that afternoon, so he cruised around the park looking for us after we left.   he did, for the record, stop by my apartment later that afternoon to give me a birthday gift.

stanford kwang and annelise bjannes have been going out since before i ever knew them.   you will have to ask toby about their history.   but i have had lots of fun partying with them on many occasions.   i remember going to devanni's thai restaurant for annelise's birthday.   they really like that restaurant, and the chef likes them.   it was sad to see them leave berkeley after graduating.   i hope we go to tahoe someday though.

toby and sarah! they can sing very well.   at the end of the fall 1996 semester, toby called me from santee.   i had yet to take my last final, but he had already finished and gone home.   he told me he had a girlfriend from the uc jazz choir.   i did not realise until much later that i had already met sarah through ryan choi at ucb's unit iii spens-black dorm back in the 1995-1996 year.   toby met sarah for the first time that day too.   i remembered that evening but had always failed to link it to sarah.   sarah sings, toby sings, and they sing well together.   sarah comes from some little town up north, in the mountains.   toby and sarah.

don't it look like a great advertisment for cal apparel?   and now we both have the yellow parka!

so fahad made it out of bezerkeley in four.   and he graduated with honors!   so we partied at kabana pakistani restaurant and went out to play pool in some rinky-dink pub in frisco.   wow, fahad used to live in the city and commute to berkeley.   wow.   and fahad has a girliefriend not in this particular picture, wendy carrillo.   ah, fahad... he's been around throughout all my phases and changes of life at berkeley.   and i guess i've seen him change too.   after all i lived in the same room as me; he changed every morning in our room!

here, print it out on a colour printer and get plastic surgery!   then you can commit the crime of the century!

pictures of us.   here we pose for a self-potrait shot on our one year anniversary.

read my manifesto pt. ii on 27 june, 1997.   and on 01 july, 1997, i give my opinion on the restaurant at which we dined on our one year anniversary.

vivian with floppy dog.   we really like floppy dog.

a view from one of berkeley's many "make-out spots."   but hey! i took this picture during the daytime!

bfg 9000 comic

ah, this will take you back to the days!   yah, the ed park #49 asuc senate campaign of 1996.   we became such a public spectacle.   i just think about how many comics we handed out to how many people.   who can remember a face?
