Berkeley Poetry Review (BPR) is a journal published annually at the University of California, Berkeley. Founded in 1974, it has featured the work of new as well as established poets and writers, including Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Yusef Komunyakaa, Brenda Hillman, Czesław Miłosz, Cole Swensen, Robert Hass, Ishmael Reed, CAConrad, Hoa Nguyen, and Thom Gunn.

The cover art for our 48th issue is by Ricki Dwyer, an artist from the Bay Area whose work investigates the material of cloth as an embodied form. Excited by notions of temporality as reference to bodily growth, decay, and transformation, Ricki’s work often changes throughout an exhibition, evening, or lifespan. As a weaver their sculptures are in part produced on the loom and in part developed as assemblage works, highlighting cloth as a contextually defined material. Ricki is currently an Art Practice MFA Candidate at UC Berkeley.
