This is my third attempt at godliness on the net.

This web site was created with the purpose of displaying some "art" that I've been doing with the computer for a while now. I put "art" in quotation because I don't like the use of that word very much, but for a lack of a better word I'll keep using it. The reason why I don't like the word is that people have a tendency to think of high art whenever they hear that word. High art is nice and all sometimes, but it seems too far detached from the general population that it doesn't seem like art to me at all. I mean, are we all supposed to get some kind of divine inspiration from watching a pink dot in the middle of an otherwise empty white room? If so, maybe my conception of high art is all wrong but to me popular art is much more tangible and enjoyable. This might sound sick for you, but I even consider tv commercials art and the really good ones give me as much pleasure as anything. I love going into poster shops to just browse and sometimes I look at every ad in a magazine without even glancing at the articles. Not that I'm an ad junkie or anything, I also enjoy going into art galleries from time to time and often I'm pleasantly surprised at the stuff I see. Watching well designed web pages are relaxing too. People use the phrase "information overload" to describe the web sometimes, but I just think that it's badly designed web pages that cause this, not the information itself.

Anyway, what I have here is my humble collection of works that I have taken joy in completing. I'll take as much joy in sharing it with you especially since you're probably my friend. I don't have too much stuff right now, but I included some photography and some stuff created from scratch and a then a mix of both. I will post up more stuff as I complete them.

Some words of advise before you click on. If you like trying to figure out the artist's "message" in his use of symbolism or his composition or whatever else then you will be dissappointed. I'm going to tell you right now that I believe that good art does not need analysis to be appreciated. Good art should make you feel, or at least make you ponder. No matter what some people might say, when it all comes down to it, art is entertainment and communication. If the viewer has to try to "figure it out" to appreciate it or understand it's message (if there is one), it's really not a good job. Art should be inclusive, not exclusive, and most important of all it should be direct, to the heart or to the brain. Do I sound too communist?

Enjoy. And please criticize.
