Hi everyone, my name is Cynthia Gallegos. I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I’m currently a sophomore here at Cal intending to major in Public Health and minor in Child Development. After my undergrad experience, I plan on completing a master’s in nursing to become a registered Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I am also open to the possibility of working in a field or area related to public health before enlisting in nursing school. Ultimately, I aspire to use my education and skills to empower low-income and under resourced communities like my own in East Oakland. I decided to intern for CHE because I wanted to be part of the behind the scenes for projects that CHE offers for both communities on campus and around the area. I hope to have a positive impact within CHE and share experiences with people who are passionate about the importance of health education in the Chicanx/ Latinx community.
