Toyota:
Fifty (50) one-year grants of up to $10,000 for 2007.
A minimum of 20 "mini-grants" of up to $2,500 These
often appear to be project driven grant, class or unit ideas
that are resource intensive. They do not seem to be for
things like computers or equipment, unless those are written
are essential for the larger theme.

An example that may interest a chemistry teacher here
Bank of America: Education grants seem to focus on College and not K-12. Wells Fargo: Educational Grants Will accept grants year around, but encourage early submission. Will support K-12 education, but say that computers and other equipment receive a low funding priority. Otherwise it looks like this could be a good source. National Geographic:

Exxon Mobile:

Amber

Target:
Only gives grants to communities with Target stores. Main focus
areas are early reading, arts and family violence prevention.

Toshiba:
Mission of Toshiba America Foundation is to premote
quality science and math education in US schools.
Grants - focus K-12 improving math and science education.
Grant format is around project based ideas from individual or
small groups of teachers specifically for classroom use.
1000$ K-6, no amount specified for 7-12.

Best Buy:
Apply online from July 1-Sept. 30th.  They give money in the
form of $2500 gift cards for technology-based learning.
They didn't have a lot of specifics, but the two requirements
(being a school, and being within 50 miles of a BestBuy) are
good.  I guess we'd have to check back closer to July?

Corning:
They have education grants, but no form--here's the page of info
and requirements:

Nothing for us:
Cisco, Citibank, and Abbott labs

Kodak:
I couldn't really find anything here, but I'll do
some more looking.

Walmart:
Looks like they more have awards (that can then be
used as grants) than specific grants to apply for.
The do have scholarships - these are more directed at
the kids than the teachers.

Washington Mutual:
Looks like an option (they specifically mention school
improvements). Grant application on-line, accepted all
year round (one per calendar year). Amount not clear.
Reply with in 60 days.

Kaiser Permanente:
Most grants are connected to healthy living applications.
May be useful for field trips or health related activities.

American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics:
Grants for 200$ per teacher (1000$ per school per calendar
year). Must be used to supplement science/math program.
Proposals considered 3 times a year.
