Summary of our Knowledge of the God War
According to a priest of Nyx being tortured by servants of Hel:

there is going to be a big war, and it's happening real soon, if not already

the Freya and Nyx matter is a side issue

there are two groups: The Brotherhood of the Radiance - leader Rad, other
group unknown can find out more in a city with a watery road (Glantri city)
The priest was later killed by a Night Giant.
The leads on a city with a watery road were:

"A city far to the west in dangerous lands ... they want for nothing, and
use magical boats to go between their houses."

There is an underwater city in Alphatia called Aquias.

Freya and Rafiel are not opposed in the god war. Not all deities are on
the same side, the same applies to priests too. The war of the gods is
on fully, but the gods are not fighting each other directly yet. Two main
sides: the Brotherhood of the Radiance and those who oppose them. Opposition
include Ilsundal and the other Elven gods.
Leo "remembered" that this whole god war is something to do with Glantri.
Something is being fought over at the Glantri-Alphatia border.

It is a struggle between the new order (Rafiel, Rad and others) and the
old order (the Elvish deities, who else?).

Some of what Phoranin's priesthood does is involved with this (they have
Radiant shamans for example). The new order is probably composed of some
old gods who are now "new" ... times change, who is in power cycles.

The Day of No Magic was started by the same forces who started the god
war conflict.

The rules on the god war are not magical. The rock being dropped related
to one of Thora's earlier questions to Charastra.
The Day of No Magic happened about two to three years ago (from 14th Klarmont
1013).
When Alphatia and Glantri came to Mystara there was a god war, this
drove the Shadow Elves beneath the surface and caused great destruction.
When the god war was finished there was agreement on the rules. This was
2000 years or more ago - when the last god war occurred. When the gods
fought in the Home System, so too did the mortals.
Northern Reaches mythology:

The giants were in a war against the gods in another land. The giants lost
the war and most were killed. The battle at the end will involve giants.

The greastest deceiver of all time will lead the giants into battle on
Nailfarer - made of nails of the undead. It will get colder and the sun
will go out.
