Profile of Known People
-
Aegon: friend and previous companion of Orlan and Liril, who is on her
quest to reach immortality. Her quest is to gain proficiency in all weapons,
she has spent 50 years on it so far. She is a priest of Vanya, but disagrees
strongly with the Heldanic worship of Vanya.
-
Alamir: creator of T'zaz and various powerful spells. Went looking for
a kiss from a goddess to make a sword to kill undead ... result was he
got a kiss literally. Likely interpretation: (a) killed (b) in love (c)
immortal. Alamir successfully found a kiss of a goddess. Helped separate
the Sundered Man eight hundred years ago.
-
Alan: supposedly a friend of Charastra. Almost definitely immortal as knew
information about the Alphatian Home System and the whirlwind. Possibly
an ally of Alphaks.
-
Albiss: companion of Tess when he went to bring back Ariah. A mage and
priest of Rathnos, he remains in the Cage.
-
Alexander of Glantri: a Glantrian hero, was someone important at the School
of Magic.
-
Anda Phoenix, Lieutenant: in charge of Darokin forces when we were in the
wilderness. A male human enchanter.
-
Ariah: previous PC, and friend of Tess. Five people died helping Tess get
her back. Was it worth the cost in life? Tess is never going to repeat
this, but he knows better ways to go about things next time.
-
Blue Blade, party of: they had no mage and were looking for one ... they
worked for Talib, and Grey was a member who became separated. The others
were killed at sea by enemies. Charastra said we could gain aid from this
party. i.e. Grey.
-
Boelle: head priest of Morgan
-
Brannet McGregor, Prince: prince in Northern Glantri
-
Brenmeer: the diary which T'zaz found was written by Brenmeer, a minor
noble in Glantri. The diary was written ten years ago.
-
Charnelists: the group who wish to reconstruct the Sundered Man to free
Vermissa, for Thasmodean.
-
Charastra: a centaur sage/seer, living in the faerie region of Alfheim
where few elves live. Daughter of Chiron.
-
Chiron: an immortal, father of Charastra.
-
Circe: a nasty woman in the Alphatian Home System who turns people to stone.
Probably doesn't like tourists. Is a medusa. Bad break at birth. Cast spells,
dwells on an island and turns people into pigs. Quiet neighbourhood.
-
Corga: a person in Norwold who went and subdued the orc tribes and now
taxes them.
-
Delmont, Lieutenant of the Beltharian navy: from Belthar in Home System
-
Denarus, Admiral: Admiral of the fleets of Norwold
-
Dirkal is an ambitious human member of the Harmonium who didn't want them
knowing he'd had a bastard child by a succubus (the child is Umbra)
-
Dunedel: the Elvish witch whose husband we retrieved from Niflheim. She
gave us the gift of sight in return for this. She is an Isvatu elf.
-
Eric Helsing: necromancer in Serraine who helped the party, but also
had it in for Tess when Tess was charmed. Helped freeing Tess (who is now
banished from Serraine), in exchange for party finding/killing Hydrich,
Kavel, and Vasilev. Eric bargains hard, and tries to get his way ... something
the party lets him do too often. Eric's principles are somewhat suspect
(e.g. killing Kavel because Hydrich was staying with Kavel). Eric helped
trap the librarian to guard the Serraine library. Eric lives in the Onyx
Tower in Serraine and is a councillor there.
-
Grey Front: a faction in Serraine which want to destroy Serraine.
-
Helentia: a woman from Aquias (in Alphatia) who was on trial for something
she didn't do. She attacted Tess' attention by saying something after using
an ESP spell. Tess got her off the trial stand, when the judge had been
completely ignoring her testimony (Tess spoke up and said hey listen to
her basically, and got multiple glares). She was a member of the Sign of
One. Helenia promptly died in the Screaming Tower when a gust of air blew
her up into the air, and she fell out a hole in the tower. Victim number
four. She had been staying in an Enclave in the Lower Ward. Talbon was
also blown out a hole in the tower, but lived.
-
Hreknal and Rolfin: companions of Tess who were killed by a six-armed,
poison-clawed demon in Limbo. A bad start.
-
Hydrich was a necromancer in Serraine who was trying to sell Vasilev a
magic urn which created undead. Tess killed his apprentice who was a member
of the Grey Front.
-
Igor: hunchbacked sidekick of Vasilev
-
Jefferey of Guntarum: leader of the rebellion against the Heldanic knights. He
is a priest of Vanya.
-
Joseph: an adventurer in Ierendi whom Tess spoke to
-
Jinkin, Sergeant: a Woodwart halflin, helped Darokin against Hule
-
Jorn: see Nimigal
-
Kar, Master Musician: a member of the Harmonium. Should see if we
can get his latest song when next in the Cage.
-
Karylin: the mother of Umbra, seducer of Dirkal. She was going to give
Umbra to the Dark Lord in exchange for a domain. She is a succubus.
-
Kavel: a necromancer in Sharak who Hydrich was staying with. We captured
Hydrich and looted Kavel's house. Kavel sent assassins after us, which
we managed to survive. We then went and killed Kavel. Is this morality
or what??? Tess would have preferred to have geased the guy and got him
to pull the assassin's off. We also failed to question him re: the Emerondians.
Kavel had been experimenting with making machine-undead combinations. We fought
some steel skeletons before we killed him.
-
Kaserabet: wife of Talib. She left him to concentrate on her necromantic
studies. Both Talib and her were necromancers in what is now called
Davinia.
-
Kindal, Sergeant: a priest of Vanya from Darokin. Apparently does stuff
up near the Broken Lands (presumably from Coringlain).
-
Kraal: guard of Zactar cathedral who let Tess inside in exchange for a
magical club ... Kraal was killed by Dirkal, but it was a fairly even-handed
fight. Bit strong, dangerous guy basically. Would have been a nice side
kick. He had probably been forced to guard the Zactar Cathedral by some
magic. Kraal was seriously pounding Turia in a fight before this, without
having taken a nick.
-
Kuzma: a female halfling scout who fought for Darokin against Hule.
-
Lerneld the Swill: governor of Landfall. A drunkard. Half-brother of the
King of Norwold and son of the Empress.
-
Librarian, Serraine: presumably a demilich who likes books
-
a librarian who was killed in Serraine: wasn't killed by Vasilev or Eric,
so who killed the librarian and why?
-
Linten Kalimi, Major: human from Darokin, Darokin leader against Hule.
-
(Scout Corporal) Tess was the head scout for the groups under Kalimi.
-
Liril: Orlan's lover (now), who was a sword after a bad enchanting, travelled
with Orlan for years in this form. Cute couple.
-
Longwalker, Baron: has 3000 people in northern part of the forest in Norwold.
-
Malaka, Auntie: a member of the Harmonium presumably, known by Umbra.
-
Master, The: an errant time lord who is now in charge of the Hule forces
and sent them to attack Darokin. The Master is not necessarily the Master
according to Charastra. This suggests someone has a very nice ruse going
on.
-
Melody, The: a ship in the first fleet of Norwold
-
Mikhail Yarol, Lieutenant: a human scout, a Royal Karameikan Pathfinder,
also fought against Hule for Darokin
-
Morphail, Prince: prince of a province in North Eastern Glantri, is Vasilev's
prince. Popular amongst young ladies and the fashionable, he's probably
a vampire. Works for himself as always.
-
Myril: a siren imprisoned by Mytyr to guard his maze. Thora worked out
how to realse her. Good stuff. My singing was beginning to annoy me.
-
Mytyr: demilich who we killed with help of Orlan and Aegon. A mage who
lived 1225 years ago. Specialised in conjuration.
-
Newon the Mage: the mage in Serraine who does teleports for us at 1000gp
-
Nimigal: a big red-skinned demon with wings, bulging right arm and small
left arm. Promised Turia and Tess various things to get them to free him
from imprisonment by bringing Umbra to the Zactars. The method was highly
devious and annoying. Tess later arranged to have Turia's part fulfilled
by the "Save Ariah" party, in exchange for no share in some other stuff.
Nimigal had been assigned the task of guarding the pool which Umbra was
to be immersed in ... this pool was a gate by which Tess was going to get
back to Mystara after everything was sorted out. The pool disappeared when
Umbra entered it. Nimigal returned to Gehenna.
-
Norwold, King: cousin of Orlan(?). Trained by Orlan.
-
Oberon, King: king of the Alfheim faerie court along with Queen Y, the
un(DM)nameable.
-
Oren Torkrest, Sergeant: an experienced mountaineer from Rockholme, also
fought for Darokin against Hule
-
Or'lan: the best ranger in the world, helps us now and then, bought Turin's
Cloak. Worships Zirchev the Hunter.
-
Paperman: an immortal mage who dwells in the Cage, making buckets off people
by doing stuff like going and getting Ariah back and granting wishes (Tess
wished for information on gaining immortality, and to be able to read and
write the languages he knew). Not a deity according to Charastra.
-
Phoebe Kegley, Lieutenant: a Darokin half-elf warrior who spoke Hule.
-
Ragnar the Stout: warleader of the jarldoms. Came up with army to help
Backwater.
-
Ralwold, Commodore: commodore of the third Norwold supply fleet which we
were with
-
Rosaline: a warrior who we rescued who was a paladin of Ixion, her brain
is still fried from insect yuckiness underground (she was turning into
an insect basically, we avoided this fate). Can be healed by magic or an
item of great power. I recommend we do so, she is a worshipper of Ixion
and may have knowledge that would aid us.
-
Saja Splitterblade: a succubus barmaid at the Raving Fiend in the Cage.
Nimigal's first point of contact for us via Jorn.
-
"Save Ariah" party: the ill-fated, and post-humously named, party which
Tess got together to go and get Ariah back from Limbo. Included Talbon,
Albiss, Hreknal, Rolfin, Sil and Tina.
-
Serraine Council: Zim has a cousin(?) on the Serraine council. They rule
Serraine. Eric Helsinger is a councillor.
-
Shallatriel: a Shadow Elven mage, much respected, who researched magic.
Disappeared around the start of 1014, presumably found the crown and was
corrupted by it. Some priests of Rafiel resurrected him. Lives in Lostriel.
Nearly old enough to be a wanderer. We gave him his wand of paralyzation
back.Recommend asking him for help if we need some magical research.
Perhaps we should ask him about getting a device which prevents scrying
and divinations on us?
-
Sil and Tina: friends, Tina is the scouty sort. Sil was killed by the six-clawed
demon, but resurrected by a temple for Tina ... who knows what Tina had
to do in return, but it was not remotely pleasant. Later paid temple off.
-
Silia: a female human scout who helped Darokin against Hule. Died attacking
Fort Lakeside.
-
Spinx: replaced Hydrich on the Serraine Council
-
Talbon: mage from Alphatia who was a companion of Tess when he tried to
go and get Ariah. Died when a cone of cold hit him in Dirkal's tower.
-
Talib: was king of Ysawis, in Davinia, left when his wife left him. Two sisters
in his party were killed by liches. Also known as "Lich slayer." Gets bands of
adventurers to help destroying undead. Gave us a magic item to reduce the
chance of energy draining, and reincarnated Tessrael (who was a Shadow Elf and
is now an Alfiesh Elf) and Thora (who was Thorfinn a priest of Frey). Talib
will never find what he seeks. Meddled with Thora's and Tessrael's reincarnation
for our benefit. Appears in Thorfinn's body. Also has appeared as a robust
middle-aged gentleman to the party of the Blue Blade. One of his goals is to
destroy all liches - maybe this a quest for him to gain immortality?
-
Tanya: a female human scout for Darokin against Hule
-
Tennar, Captain: Captain of the Norwold marines sent with us when we went
as diplomats to Belthar in the Home System.
-
Thoranal, General: lover of empress of Alphatia and head of the armed forces.
Supposedly assassinated by Glantri, one of the key events leading to Alphatia
declaring war on Glantri.
-
Tom: a ghost who dwells in that maze where we get to Mirage. Can exchange
items with him to get other things of equal value.
-
Turla: a member of the Transcendent Order who nearly died kidnapping Umbra.
We got her out in a rubbish bin, which the Harmonium proceeded to stick
swords into to make sure we weren't doing anything suspicious. Fortunately
she lived. (The Harmonium were looking for a tall, blue, wanted criminal.
Go figure.)
-
Umbra was the daughter of Dirkal and a succubus, Karylin. Tess kidnapped
Umbra for Nimigal. Dirkal had her playing with knives and guarded by two
baatezu. Tess helped Umbra back to the Zactar cathedral. She entered the
Zactal pool and the priests came back to life, and began her training.
-
Valana: an Alfheim archer, who helped out the Darokin army fighting against
Hule, was another one under Major Linten Kalimi.
-
Vasilev: a vampire who is a powerful magic and excellent pianist, enemy
of Eric, works for Prince Morphail. Morphail and Vasilev are bound by blood
- suggests Morphail made Vasilev a vampire.
-
Vermissa: a lich, powerful agent of Thasmodean, sort of mortal. She is
sealed in the Garden of Eternity on the Isle of Serenity (Sahu). Only someone
of great power can break one of the seals (the Sundered Man can).
-
Virinus: a troll-like demon, she dwelled in the Screaming Tower. The tower
of gargoyles, which has a gate to the elemental plane of Air. Virinus owned
the Demon's Claw. She kept small humanoid creatures in a cage, and ate
them every so often. Dead.
-
Wyrm who is red but not red: guards a piece of the Sundered Man, near the
man-scorpions. I strongly recommend helping the Enduks and getting
the Star Key to operate the Star Device to destroy the Wyrm to get the
piece of the Sundered Man. We will need to gain the trust of the Enduks
first to do this.
