Musings

It's interesting that vampires have a variety of powers and can increase in power, whereas most mortals are limited. Yet some of us now have the Gift of Sight ... what limits what powers we can gain? Wishes are limited, as they do not allow the wisher to gain power with time ... What about divinely granted powers? Or powers granted by the faerie? Perhaps it would be advantageous to get the faerie ormus fruit and the latest song by the Master Musician Kar of the Harmonium, to ask for something?

Possessions are ultimately limited ways of gaining power, as they can be taken from you or lost. Knowledge is useful, but one gains only in the application or exchange of it.

Is Umbra immortal? Presumably, given her powers.

How much more difficult is it for mortals, or immortals, to gain further powers? Would it be worthwhile being able to shape change into a pegataur? A useful form as it allows flight, combat, fast movement on the ground, and presumably one could still cast spells.

The Gammarians could just think about something in a special way, and it would happen. What does it take to be able to use magic in this way on Mystara? Surely, this would be a very useful form of magic ... equivalent in many ways to powers which can be used ... those which don't require memorization from a spell book - spell books can be lost.

Which deities dislike and like Tessarael? Presumably Alphaks dislikes Tessarael. Rafiel, Koryis and perhaps Morgan like Tessarael hopefully. Nyx and Vanya may also dislike Tessarael, along with Ilsundal and Thasmodean. Do they really care? What about Hel?

Given that Rafiel granted an audience to Phoranin and Tessarael, Rafiel cares, or at least we are important to his plans, which suits me fine, as long as the bloodshed is minimal.

When would it be beneficial for a deity, power, or immortal to grant a mortal powers? Presumably a sufficient trade of power - artifacts for example.
