Akagi Ritsuko

Ritsuko, the leggy bioengineer!

 Dr. Akagi Ritsuko is in charge of the technological aspects of the Evangelion project. Whereas Misato is responsible the pilots and Eva operations, Ritsuko oversees the Evangelions themselves.

Ritsuko and Misato are good friends, though at times their duties to NERV strains their friendship. Ritsuko is sympathetic for the pilots because of the demands placed on them, but her primary concern are the Evangelions. This conflict of interest puts her at odds with Misato when Evangelion operations goes awry.

Ritsuko, her mother, and Gendo are instrumental figures in the shaping NERV's destiny. Ritsuko's mother was responsible for the creation of NERV's main computers.
