I am a Research Scientist at Urban Transport Systems Laboratoty (LUTS), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), since September 2014.

Prior to joining EPFL I was a Postdoctoral Researcher with Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology (PATH) at University of California, Berkeley (2012–2014).

I received my Diploma degree in Industrial Engineering (2004), and M.Sc. (2006), Ph.D. (2011) degrees in Operations Research (specialising in modelling, control and optimisation of large-scale transportation systems) from the Technical University of Crete, Greece.

Research Interests

  • Modelling and simulation of traffic flow

  • Traffic estimation and control

  • Big data and machine learing

  • Intelligent transportation systems

  • Neural networks, adaptive optimisation

  • Self-tuneable control systems

  • Operations research and optimal control

  • Large-scale complex systems

  • Mobility patterns and logistics
