on the topic of career objectives

To whom it may concern:

I dream in IMAX 3D and aspire to be greater than I am.

When I ponder the possibilities that may come to pass in the next ten years, I can't help but glaze over what I perceive is only a meanwhile. While I hope to attain an executive position where I can set business strategy, I would like to focus my efforts on developing the talents of others, whether they are coworkers or clients. I believe in being a resource, leadership, constructive criticism, and encouraging others to push their limits.

In the meanwhile, I hope to spend the next ten years developing the technical skills and knowledge I need to be an expert in the marketing field. The moment I learned that marketing was about satisfying the needs of others, I learned everything I needed to know about success: What have you done for me lately? I believe in processes, life-long learning, and working from the bottom-up.

That being said, I am open to new career paths, functions, and industries. What is most important to me is that I am given sufficient opportunities to (1) learn in a constructive and efficient way and (2) challenge myself to be better than I ever dreamt I could be. My dream job function would allow me to (1) set business strategy and (2) be a leader within both my professional and personal communities. I believe in setting goals, taking risks, leaving room for speculation, and rolling with the punches.

Give me all you've got.

Cheers,
Monica Tran
