Japan and Hong Kong

I’m currently in Hong Kong (spent New Years here!) and the weather is amazing. Japan was amazing in itself, lots of beautiful snow everywhere, especially on the trees and all these snow gardens.

Of course, somehow my flight from HK to LAX was cancelled. That was a huge fiasco in itself, but things have been corrected.

Anyways, i’m off to enjoy the first few days of 2011 in Hong Kong.

ICTD 2010 + London + Being Stranded

It’s been some time since I’ve checked in.

In short, I’m currently in London (stranded btw) for ICTD 2010. My time here was epic, but i’ve just had enough of being here! My plan was to return to SFO on Dec 18th, but instead, I’m going to meet my dad in Japan on Dec 26th. Hopefully that works out. Things are looking good since Heathrow airport has a better grip on things and the weather has improved significantly.

This is me doing the fast-forward session:

Besides that, I’ve had lots of time to myself over here to reflect and think about many things. Another piece of good news is that I have another publication with CHI 2011! It’s possible I might go to Vancouver, Canada next year for that conference! Not really intending to (since my partner and I both won a CHI 2011 registration and only one of us can go), but we’ll see. My partner says that if he can find funding or a means to pay for his registration, then I’ll be going!

Sounds good. Getting ready to leave London tomorrow afternoon. Let’s go!

Wish List

A-ha, finally have WordPress up and running. Only problem is that i need to figure out a way to keep the format and design uniform for both my webpage and my blog. That’d be nice and ideal.

In the mean time, i made a wish-list of things i knew how to do, rather than what i want:

  1. iPhone/iPad programming
  2. Javascript
  3. Ruby on Rails
  4. Machine Learning
