WHAT IS MEDLIFE

MEDLIFE stands for Medicine, Education and Development for Low-income Families Everywhere. Our mission is to help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives.

WHO IS IT FOR

Our patients did not choose poverty, but they have chosen to strive toward a better life; MEDLIFE stands besides them in this pursuit. We aim to achieve this goal by partnering with resilient individuals in poor communities working to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development. MEDLIFE believes access to quality health care is a basic human right. To this end, we commit our time, resources, knowledge and hope to bring Medicine, Education and Development to Low Income Families Everywhere.

THE UC BERKELEY CHAPTER

MEDLIFE at UC Berkeley strives to exemplify the goal of addressing health, education, and developmental disparities while also focusing our efforts in sustainable aid. We prepare students to attend a medical brigade in Lima, Peru every semester and require our students to take a credited course that includes medical Spanish, cultural sensitivity, Peruvian culture, and global health issues that are interactive for students. Locally, we aim to follow the same philosophies by empowering our own communities here through volunteering projects and partnerships with other non-profit organizations in the bay area.
