The Palacio de la Gobernación, formerly the headquarters of the departmental government of Antioquia, is located in the Parque Berrío, facing the Museo de Antioquia, which showcases the work of great local artists, including "el Maestro," Fernando Botero. Some of his statues can be seen in the plaza here. The Palacio was designed and built in the 1880s, by a Belgian in the Flemish Gothic style. Today it is the offices for the ministry of culture.
