Mercury - A highly intense shoot-em-up for the ti92p

Current version: 1.1

General Description

Mercury is an advanced shoot-em-up game for the TI-92 Plus / Voyage 200. This game has very smooth gameplay (synchronized at 29 frames per second) with many objects onscreen. It's features include grayscale, parallax scrolling backgrounds, and the ability to save the game. It has multiple level/enemy types, with some gameplay synchronized with terrain, while other parts are 'continuous' levels in space. It also features bonuses (including new weapons for your ship) and high scroes.

Mercury is supplied with full source code. The program is in public domain so it may be copied or modified without any restrictions.

The actual gameplay is much smoother than the animated GIF above shows, since the image was made by sampling the screen only a few times per second.

Download

Download the full archive here. The archive includes the full source code (both versions are built from the same source) and documentation in addition to the executable. This release should work with all ROM and hardware versions except that for the TI-92 Plus only, there are also problems with the very old AMS 1.00 due to its incomplete assembly support. Mercury requires at least AMS 1.01.

Complete (mostly) feature list

Cheat codes

If you really think you need to cheat, shame on you. Cheat codes should be fairly easy to find by examining the source code carefully.
