Warriors' Humiliating Losses in Boston
Last season, the Golden State Warriors were destroyed 140-88 by the Celtics in Boston. It was not the first time that the Warriors were beaten by at least 49 points in Boston. There were two other instances in the 1960s.
In all three seasons that the Celtics humiliated the Warriors in Boston ('61-'62, '68-'69, and '23-'24), the Celtics won the NBA Finals.
In their history, the Warriors have lost seven regular season games by at least 49 points. Therefore, nearly half (!!) of them have occurred in the city of Boston. The Warriors rebounded from the latest loss to beat the Milwaukee Bucks by 35 points in their next game. In the process, they made NBA history as it was the biggest win ever following a 50+ point loss. Three days later, they lost to the Western Conference-worst San Antonio Spurs at home by 13 points. What a roller-coaster week it was for the Warriors!
