Shaquille O'Neal and Kamilla Cordoso: Centers with Exactly One Three-Pointer

NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal made exactly one three-pointer during his entire NBA career. (He attempted twenty-two three pointers during his career so his career three-point shooting percentage was 4.55%.) Against the Milwaukee Bucks during the 1995-1996 NBA season, Shaq hit this three-pointer at the first-quarter buzzer to put the Orlando Magic up 15 points. Shaq is not the only center to hit exactly one three-pointer during their career.

During her entire college career, South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso also hit exactly one three-pointer. Like Shaq's three-pointer, it was banked in and occurred at the buzzer. Unlike the Hall-of-Famer's three-pointer, Cardoso's three was very impactful. It was
a lead-changing, game-winning buzzer-beating three-pointer in the 2024 SEC Tournament.

The next day, South Carolina took on the LSU Tigers (Shaq's alma mater) and
Cardoso was ejected for fighting. For her actions, Cardoso was suspended for the first game of the NCAA Tournament. It was a very interesting weekend for the South Carolina center! South Carolina ended the season with no losses so Cardoso's long-distance shot kept the Gamecocks' undefeated season intact.
