Encore: Into the Drink, Who You Drivin' Now?, Here Comes Sickness
Notes: This was a free show sponsored by a a beer company releasing a new beer. The venue is, even by its normal sardine standards, significantly over capacity and sweaty. During Tales of Terror, Mark runs around Steve while singing, for the purpose of wrapping Steve up in his mic cord. Steve notices this and hops to safety with a self-satisfied look. They're about to leave the stage after that song, but Mark calls an audible, and they do Hate the Police, as well. During Hate the Police, one of the many stage divers over the course of the evening takes too long in his crouched position, looking for just the right place to dive. Mark takes the chance to sit on him for a verse or two, before allowing the guy to return to the crowd from whence he came.

5/21/10 Clash Club. Sao Paolo, Brazil
Supported By: Vespas Mandarinas
Soundcheck: F.D.K., Oblivion, Inside Out
Set: The Money Will Roll..., I'm Now, Next Time, Inside Out..., You Got it, Suck You Dry, Oblivion, Blinding Sun, Inside Job, Sweet Young Thing..., Let it Slide, Judgment Rage..., Good Enough, Touch Me I'm Sick, In 'N' Out of Grace, Hate the Police, The Open Mind, Tales of Terror, Fix Me
Notes: There's no security at the stage, so a stream of would-be stage divers takes this as an invitation, only to be thrown back from whence they came by tour-manager Danny. During Sweet Young Thing, Mark gets hit in the face by one of these would-be divers. He says, "Obrigado [thanks] to everyone except for that one," and points out the offender in the crowd. Steve is having amplifier trouble after Touch Me I'm Sick, so Mark tells the crowd that they're shortening their set - and remove most of the remaining two-guitar songs - This Gift, F.D.K., Hard-on for War, and When Tomorrow Hits. For the one remaining two-guitar song, In 'N' Out of Grace, Steve plays through Mark's amplifier, and Mark mimes playing guitar on the solo, finishing with a big jump as they go back into the song proper.

Notes: This was the first day of a free two-day festival within the state of Sao Paolo. Two stage divers make it to the stage during Oblivion and start dancing. This elicits a smile from Steve, but the happy tableau is short lived before tour manager Danny unceremoniously returns them to the portion of the venue reserved for the audience. King of Hearts Productions filmed this show as well as
5/21/10 for a DVD documentary scheduled for release in July.

Encore: Into the Drink, Who You Drivin' Now?, Here Comes Sickness
Notes: The crowd starts getting rambunctious during 'You Got it,' including the entrance of some crowd surfers. During 'Hate the Police,' Mark grabs the head of one such surfer who is being cool for his bros, and pulls the surfer's head near his hips, so that it looks like he's performing oral sex on Mark. Later on, a bouncer is escorting another crowd surfer out the back door, and Mark asks, "Don't they make a lovely couple?" Mudhoney's most famous fan, Ron Jeremy, hits his second show in as many nights. This time, he's watching from on stage, behind the band. He uses this vantage point to pantomime all the songs (for instance, when Mark sings the line, "Into the drink," Ron mimes diving into water). This was distracting to the crowd, but the guys turn around and toast him in between songs. Such are the perks of being Mudhoney's most famous fan.

Nots: Dan takes his solo in 'In N Out of Grace' to new lengths. At one point, he even stops for a spell. During all this, Mark and Steve exchange increasingly incredulous looks before finally breaking into laughter. They play 'Fix Me' so that the girl in the Black Flag shirt in the front row won't go home disappointed. Mark later signs her shrit, adding "I know Keith Morris."

After stopping the second time, Mark remarks, "Wait, this didn't sound like that in rehearsal!" After a round of laughs, the third time is the charm for the song. When they come back for the encore, Mark makes reference to that: "After such an inauspicious beginning, this turned out to be an alright show after all. Thanks to everyone for coming out. I can't believe it took us 22 years to get to Belfast, but we're finally fucking here!" Steve then asks him to point out that only 3/4 of the band live in Seattle, so Mark says, "Steve moved three hours south to Portland." The crowd boos. "I'd rather be in cork." The crowd boos more. "I don't mean I'd rather be in Cork than Belfast, I mean I'd rather be in Cork than fucking Portland!" The crowd cheers. He introduces the final song, 'Hate the Police,' with "Here's a song about the police. Perhaps some of you may be able to relate to it."
