In the end, he'll publish the results (including junior bird tournaments if necessary) to determine THE top 25 schools. Please send results to Andy Goss . HIGH SCHOOL CIRCUIT NEWS The increase of college-sponsored HS tournaments is both an opportunity for increased revenue and for recruitment of enthusiastic players. Certain colleges who generate their own questions might find it expedient to swap HS rounds with a team from far across the country as long as question security can be maintained. For the second year in a row, Berkeley, Case Western, and others are using a question swap of this nature. For Berkeley, this proved necessary because CAL now runs two HS contests a year, rather than one. A second bright prospect is a new HS quiz TV show in the south San Francisco area, Quiz Kids on local Peninsula TV. The added exposure may generate some recruits for several colleges and positive publicity for several Bay Area players. Lev Osherovich (UCSF and former Berkeley) will be writing many of the questions used by Quiz Kids. There is also a new TV show in Indiana out of Indianapolis. That show may be interested in hiring a quizbowl club to write its rounds. The below is a partial list of HS events. A more complete list can be found at http://www.geocities.com/darwins_bulldog1138. If possible, these hosts might appreciate extra volunteers from nearby schools as score keepers, moderators, etc. and would likely return the favor.
