Georgetown Cup III was held yesterday on the Washington, DC campus. It was a 15-team full round robin, without playoffs. Rounds were untimed with 24 questions. All I know for sure is that an all-sophomore team, Maryland Spinoza's Dog (B team), went undefeated. 2nd place went to John Edwards and Andrew Yaphe, while Maryland Sea Dogs (A team) took third. Despite some repeat questions, the tournament ran rather smoothly, and most of the moderators were at least quite good, even excellent. Georgetown Cup III was a vast improvement over G-Cup II, and I thank Chris, Robert, and the other members of Georgetown for running a quality tournament. This is the second time Maryland has sent four teams to a tournament in the last three weeks. This makes me wonder if we are operating under a deficit! :) Question to the Michigan juggernaut: how can you afford to send that many teams to tournaments? Adam Fine UMCPAQT
