Here is the official report of the Iowa State Uiversity Glory and
Lightning Invitational (ISUGAL).  The twenty teams playing were divided
up into two brackets and a round-robin was held within each bracket.
After the prelims, the results (with all ties broken head-to-head) were:

BTW, to all whom I promised that the origin of the bracket names would
be revealed:  they are derived from a scene in Harold Pinter's _The
Birthday Party_.

The teams were then divided into 5 playoff brackets of four teams each,
and round robins held within in bracket to determine the placings.

ISUGAL also featured an individual portion, where the stars could shine
in a head-to-head battle royale over tossup-only packets

John was clearly the class of the field and had several buzzes that left
the assembled crowd oohing and aahing.  The entire field put on a
fantastic show.
