Here are brief team results (individual and other stats to follow, along with commentary) from BULLDOGS OVER BROADWAY, held at Yale University, April 27, 1996. ROUND-ROBIN RESULTS 1. One Hundred Years of Scholitude: Millenium Approaches 9-0 2. GW Adios Amigos 8-1 3. Penn State Function 7-2 4. Dodge Dartmouth 5-4 Williams Chupacabras 5-4 ************************** Harvard Better than Cats 5-4 7. Tranquilizer Dartmouth 3-6 8. Poison Dartmouth 2-7 9. NYU Wiseguys 1-8 10. NYU Goodfellas 0-9 [NOTE: OHYOSMA was a masters' team ineligible for the playoffs.] The RR ended with a 3-way tie between Dodge Dartmouth, Williams, and Harvard; each team went 1-1 among tied teams, beat all teams below, and lost to all teams above. Since we had decided not to use total points, we used the following procedure to resolve the tie: Each team chose two players to represent the team. The six players then faced off on sudden-death tossups, with two changes: *every* interrupt-- regardless of how many teams had already buzzed in--was worth -5, and when one team reached 30 points, the remaining two teams went to full strength. After ~5 questions, Dodge Dartmouth won, 30-10-10, to take the third seed. Williams then edged out Harvard, 30-25, to take fourth place.
