Hi, everyone:

Despite a couple of no-shows and early exits, the TRASH western regional
ran pretty smoothly.  I'd like to thank all the participants and
moderators making it possible.  Here are some quick results:

UCLA finished 10-1 for first place.  Congratulations to Oz and company!

There is a three-way tie for second place (9-2) among Stanford (well,
sort
of), USC, and Caltech.

The two teams from Arizona State finished fourth and fifth.

Full results should be available within a week.  Of course, since our
flaky officer knows no punctuality, expect delays.

Another word: It was pretty much a disaster for the high school teams
who
ventured into this tournament.  All of them took the early exit at
differnt times.  Perhaps TRASH should be left for colleges only...
