Comment: Prof. Dimova was very enthusiastic and knew what she was talking about. She's expects a lot out of our writing, but if you go to her office hours, she's very willing to help you improve. The reading isn't too tough --- you can always participate better in the discussions if you've read. We had, I think, only three papers. We got to rewrite every paper, but if i recall correctly, the 1st draft grade counted. Our topic was "Magic and Metamorphosis" -- I loved our books! 100 yrs of Solitude, Kafka's Metamorphosis, Master and Margarita....

Comment: A writing-intensive class; come prepared with the readings to class. She knows plenty about the literature of East Europe and does a fine job of linking all the reading materials to the overall theme of the course. She seems new, but I'm sure she will be a fine professor for future semesters.

Comment: Polina was the sweetest teacher I've ever had. Russian 1 was by far my favorite class of the semester and I can't wait to continue on. It's a pity that Polina will be working somewhere else next semester, but I've only heard great things about everyone else in the Slavic department. Take Russian 1! You won't regret it.
