Comment: Brian is a really nice guy. He brought cookies to class :) The workload wasn't bad at all; we only read 4 books(2 of them really short) and watched 4 movies. We wrote 4 short essays(3-4 pages), and he graded generously(at least I think so). Overall, it was a pretty interesting, easy class. I definitely recommend it.

Comment: Brian was definitely a nice guy. He relied on us a lot to motivate ourselves. Participation did factor in as part of the grade, but he didn't really force it upon anyone to participate. He was a lot like my high school English teacher - chill, helpful when asked, but expected students to work on his own. He's very knowledgable.

Comment: He's a really nice guy. Maybe too nice -- a lot of the class wouldn't do the readings or come to discussion, since he wouldn't penalize for it. Pretty chill grader, too. My only complaint is that he wasn't that good at teaching in the classroom setting. I definitely learned the most from him at office hours.

Comment: Brian is a great GSI. If I had known how great he was I would've taken R1A with him as well. Really gets you into the material.
