Comment: Easily the Best Class I've Taken at Berkeley. I was so frustrated with all my other classes, I couldn't see how to apply anything we were taught in the classroom. This class is incredibly practical and sets you on a great direction. I'm really glad I took it.
Professor Burgstone is a beast. He sold his company in under a year for $1.1 billion. Since then, among other things, he's helped start the Entrepreneurship program at Berkeley.
It's been 2 years since I took this class, but I'm re-reading his book Breakthrough Entrepreneurship because the lessons taught are so valuable. In fact, if I ever invest money in a family or friend's idea, the first thing I'll do is send them a copy of Breakthrough Entrepreneurship.
Burgstone invites in some cool speakers to talk about their real world experience and hand down some life advice. Apart from that, there's a large project where you have to work on an startup idea with a team of 4/5. That can get tough, but our group went crazy with our idea and continued with it a bit past the class even.

Comment: One of my favorite professors that ive ever had at berkeley. He is very energetic, funny, engaging, and inspirational. The whole class based around a fun group project. The workload is light but burgstone's class still managed to have a surprisingly strong impact on my outlook on entrepreneurship. I took this class for fun and didnt need the credit and i cant recommend it enough
