Comment: One of the best professors I've ever had. His passion in teaching and desire to teach students to love learning. He is one of a kind. His exams are tough, but effort does reflect your grade. He doesnt try to trick on the exams. He makes the lectures go by quick!

Comment: Professor Hayes is enthusiastic and cares about his students. Exams are difficult and some questions are so open ended that it is difficult to know what is expected in your answer. It was interesting to read different research papers in discussion, but sometimes random questions regarding one specific research paper will appear on an exam.

Comment: Tyrone (the professor) is brilliant, inspiring, hilarious, I could go on and on. That being said, the exams are incredibly difficult. They require a true understanding of the material, not just memorization. You will not pass if you only memorize everything (you have to memorize everything but you also have to be able to apply it). There are 3 midterms and one very thorough and cumulative final. There is no curve, but based on my midterm performance and final grade I wouldn't be surprised if they bumped some people at the end. Would I choose it again as an elective knowing how much stress it caused me? Probably not. Am I glad I did it now that I know I passed? 100%, definitely. You must go to class, and you must take thorough notes. You need to go to section too, but don't hesitate to go to a different one if you mesh better with a different GSI (just go to your assigned one at first because they take attendance for a couple weeks). This class is amazing--I'll miss the energy for sure. Good luck!

Comment: The most incredible professor, researcher, lecturer, and person on campus. Don't miss a class, it'll feel like you skipped out on an EVENT, not just a lecture. I've never seen a man go so far above and beyond for his students. As a result, he'll expect that same energy from you in regards to his exams, but if you can live up to his expectations for his class, you'll do just fine.

Comment: Easily the coolest/best professor on campus. Lectures are entertaining... closest you can get a lecture to seem like a comedy show. Exams are tough but put enough time into the class and you will be doing alright. Make sure to make the most of office hours and study groups. That is literally what makes your grade. No exaggeration.
